Tankoa Yachts Unveils 45m T450

By George Bains

Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts has unveiled T450, a new 45m superyacht model designed by Italian yacht designer Giorgio M. Cassetta.

T450 becomes the first Tankoa superyacht under 50 metres, with the shipyard outlining its intentions to instil the soul of a much larger vessel into a more compact range at the 400GT mark. The superyacht has a solid steel hull with an aluminium superstructure, with a bold vertical architecture balanced by clean vertical lines to create a recognisably elegant Tankoa design.

Giuseppe Mazza, Tankoa Sales Manager, said : “Building on the extraordinary success of our 50-metre platform with Bintador and Vertige already delivered and two more in build, the T450 confirms Tankoa’s drive to build yachts below 500GT that are designed with a big boat mentality and quality. This new 45-metre model has been designed to provide maximum flexibility, and in terms of interior and exterior space it feels like a much larger vessel.”

12 guests will be treated to the ultimate luxury in 6 onboard cabins, owing to the voluminous interior that is surprising for a yacht of 45 metres. The accommodation includes an opulent full-beam owner’s stateroom and a VIP suit on the main deck forward, while the lower deck houses four en-suite cabins.

Giorgio Cassetta, who has been the creative mind behind stellar Italian-built superyachts such as Luminosity and Spectre, lifted the lid of the brief for T450: “When Tankoa asked us to prepare a proposal for the new T450, our instinct was to go through our past experience with yachts of similar and larger volume to come up with a precise vision of what had to be in the design.

“The yacht packs some amazing real estate and amenities, while presenting an elegant styling that is intentionally free of any useless decoration. The interior design enjoys ample uninterrupted spaces, warmed by the usage of marine materials and earthy hues. The construction criteria and rich specification will make the T450 a truly unique offer in this size range.”

T450 boasts an open-plan dining room and main salon, fitted with full-height glazing overlooking the sweeping open aft deck. There is an open-air beach club with a glass-fronted pool taking centre stage, while staircases lead down to a water-level swim platform. The layout of T450 can be customised to the owner’s preferences, with options including aft-facing seating at the lower level and a large bar unit on the upper level.

A second pool can be found on the spacious sundeck, where there are also more sunbeds, a shaded dining area and a forward bar with sofa seating. There is further al fresco dining available on the bridge deck, and the sky deck can be transformed into a media room. Further social areas are found on the open foredeck in front of the wheelhouse, meaning that there are abundant entertainment spaces for the 12 guests to enjoy. T450 can also be future-proofed even further with the option of a hybrid propulsion system, reducing fuel consumption and emissions as well as increasing onboard comfort by reducing noise and vibrations.
