TEAM Italia Prepares Global Expansion with ‘Bridge of the Future’

By George Bains

TEAM Italia, the leading manufacturer of innovative superyacht bridge projects in Italy, has announced its intention to expand its services into new international markets, focusing first on Turkey and Northern Europe.

For the last 20 years, TEAM Italia has led the way with innovative integrated bridge projects, delivering almost 700 state-of-the-art bridges. Drawing on extensive in-house expertise, TEAM Italia has built strong relationships with some of the world’s most iconic shipyards, who have benefitted from the proven quality, safety and reliability of the Italian manufacturer’s projects.

The planned international expansion of TEAM Italia is driven by what the company describes as “an exciting partnership being developed with one of the top players in the market.”

Always committed to being at the forefront of new innovations, TEAM Italia is also focused on the study and application of augmented reality. The research into augmented reality is being pursued with the expectation that it could facilitate the implementation of autonomous driving, which is already under development in collaboration with partner companies. It is hoped that this could be enrolled in the near future, integrated into TEAM Italia’s I-Bridge concept.

“At TEAM Italia, we have been taking about the Virtual Bridge for some time now,” says Massimo Minnella, CEO and Founder of TEAM Italia. “We are already working on 3D technologies that, integrated with on-board systems, will allow them to be controlled and managed in a complete and efficient manner thanks to their virtualisation.”

Despite its name, the Virtual Bridge represents not virtual technology but a bridge located in a different area from where we are currently used to finding it. This allows Owners and their guests to make full use of the Upper Deck to enjoy the sailing experience with uninterrupted views of the sea.

Through this, the guests experience is enhanced by removing the need for a command area on the upper decks, providing the Designer and Owner more area for social spaces. TEAM Italia is able to support the complete customisation of the dashboard, implementing both functional and ergonomic integration.

“I believe that in the near future, considering all the data we are now able to collect and process and thanks to all the virtual reconstruction sensors we are implementing, the new ‘virtual bridge’ solution will be just as safe and capable as the current one,” adds Minnella.
