The 'Bounceback' Continues: Burgess Sells Four Yachts in Seven Days

By Jenna Mehdi

Burgess has announced the sale of four yachts in just seven days, amounting to over 166m in total length and almost 65million EUR in total value. The sales were made by the Burgess teams in Asia, Palma, New York and Monaco, reflecting the global scale of Burgess’ success.

Included in the quartet of sales was 55.5m new build TIME OFF, Damen support vessel who grabbed the industry’s attention at the recent Monaco Yacht Show. The Palma office commandeered the sale, representing the seller, after just under a year on the market.

Burgess was also proud to announce the sale of 44m Bloemsma & Van Breeman motor yacht ARETE, who joined the Burgess sales fleet in March 2021, and 33.9m Feadship Lagoon Cruiser MOON SAND TOO - an August 2021 addition to the fleet.

The week concluded with the sale of the iconic sailing yacht RIBELLE. Designed by Malcolm McKeon, this 32.6m Vitters performance sailing yacht was also a star of the Monaco Yacht Show’s new sailing yacht section, and ‘a firm favourite within the Burgess fleet’.

The seven-day extravaganza tops off an extremely buoyant year for brokerage houses across the industry since the last quarter of 2020.

Jonathan Beckett, CEO, comments:  “The past 13/14 months have been pretty extraordinary – almost relentless in the sales market. Yachts have been selling at really good prices and talks of ‘COVID deals’ was quite honestly a myth.

We are delighted with the current sprint to the finishing line of 2021, but we aren’t there yet – still more deals to be done as we enter December!”
