The First Amels 80 Ready for Outfitting

Following the launch of the hull and superstructure in September 2023, the first Amels 80 superyacht was moved to the Netherlands for completion. Evolving from the Amels Limited Editions range, the 80m yacht remains in keeping with the Amels DNA, with Espen Oeino creating a holistic and modern exterior design. 

Romke van der Linde, Damen Yachting’s Project Manager, commented: ‘This yacht is at the forefront of shipbuilding…We are a 100+ year old shipyard that continues to innovate and the hybrid Amels 80 is a true testament to this. The feedback from the several Amels 60 yachts that already feature our hybrid system has been more than positive.’

Amels Limited Editions feature a fully customisable interior, something which Jan van Hogerwou, Commercial Executive North America Damen Yachting acknowledged: ‘A key selling point for our Amels Limited Editions superyachts is the ability to create a fully personalised interior design. And judging by the interior renderings, this is set to be a spectacular rendition of the Amels 80 that we are all excited to see delivered in 2025.’

The Owner has opted for Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design to oversee her interior styling, in which a unique colour palette and selection of natural materials has been chosen with a dedicated Owner’s deck and 200sqm sun deck. This Amels 80 features a waterside beach club which opens on three sides, a wellness and spa area, a helicopter landing area, and a multitude of toys which are able to be stored on board. 

The yacht was sold a year ago by Burgess, who has remained involved in the build process as the Owner’s representative. Sean Bianchi, Partner - Head of New Construction, Naval Architect at Burgess commented: ‘This is a great testament to the project team who are working collaboratively together to complete a yacht that pushes the boundaries of the Limited Editions series to a maximum. We are extremely proud to have been part of this unique project and look forward to her delivery in 2025.’ 

For many years, Damen Yachting has continued to evolve its products; perfecting the Limited Editions superyachts and their various designs and lengths. In 2019, the range increased with the Amels 60 and now the largest to date, the Amels 80, showing the classic Limited Editions to be a firm favourite of many.
