The First Atlantique 43 Launched by Columbus Yachts

By Frances Flannagan

Columbus Yachts has announced that NIGHT FURY II has been launched: the first of three units of the Atlantique 43 to be delivered by the summer. This model uniquely blends the aesthetics of a motor yacht and a sailing hull, exuding a natural elegance and classic luxury that characterises her design.

Columbus’ Atlantique is a 43m motor yacht built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with naval engineering overseen by Palumbo Superyachts in collaboration with Hydro Tec, and exteriors and interiors penned by Hot Lab.

Her design is characterised by a combination of stylistic and functional elements dedicated to sea voyages, allowing her Owner and guests to enjoy every single moment on board.

Her exterior lines are smooth and meticulously crafted, reminiscent of a shell and exuding a sense of both softness and aggression simultaneously. The Atlantique takes on the form of an organic blend between motor and sail yacht, the fluid lines attributing the design a natural elegance.

NIGHT FURY II has been skillfully designed with her Owner and their family in mind, boasting generous external areas that seamlessly blend with the expansive interior spaces. The indoors of the main and upper deck offer total contact with the surrounding landscape, just one of many elements that encourage enjoyment at sea.

The Atlantique 43 features a sailing-type stern, one of the most defining areas of her design. This area includes a central swimming pool surrounded by aft facing seating, with the entire space located low on the water. This direct contact with the water is enhanced by the addition of two fold-out wings.

The lower deck is home to four double cabins, two VIP cabins with ensuites and two twins, whilst the forward area of the lower deck is dedicated to the crew.

The starboard side garage can be found at the stern of the Atlantique 43, able to store a 5.5m tender, whilst the main deck forward features an area dedicated to housing a second tender and two jet skis.

The Atlantique 43 is able to reach a maximum speed of 15.5 knots, with a cruising speed of 14.5 knots, powered by two Cat C32 engines.
