The First Nordhavn 51 Successfully Delivered To Owners

By Frances Flannagan

Embarking on a 600 nm journey from Istanbul to Rhodes, the first Nordhavn 51 (N51) has been successfully delivered to her Owners. She is a comfortable vessel with spectacular sea keeping abilities, perfect for a family who wish to cruise around the world with ease.

The two and a half day journey to her Owners proved the impressive performance capabilities of AWANUI, the first N51, performing almost flawlessly and cruising at around nine knots. James Leishman, Salesman at Nordhavn, commented that she is ‘the quietest, slipperiest Nordhavn hull’  that he’s ever been on, highlighting the comfort that she offers at sea.

AWANUI was built at the Telgeren and Partners factory in Turkey, the second vessel in a series of production-forward yachts being produced at this shipyard.

The N51 has a well-appointed layout, with two large staterooms with large ensuite heads, a day head off the saloon and an off-watch captain’s berth in the pilothouse. Each yacht in the series boasts a stylish and modern interior, built with walnut wood, horizontal panelling and white Corian with grey on the countertops.

This model has an impressive specification with a comprehensive range of equipment, including stabilisers, bow thruster and a Garmin suite of electronics. Equipped with everything from sheets and towels to flatware and stemware, buyers only need to purchase a tender and watermaker alongside this yacht.

Her Owners wished for a vessel which can host families, the N51 being the perfect choice to accommodate a range of guests comfortably.

AWANUI is set to cruise around the Mediterranean for the next few years before heading across the world to New Zealand, drawing upon the Nordhavn 51's spectacular technical platform and comfortable nature.
