The Rise of Super Catamarans: Two Sunreef 100 Eco Commissioned

By Frances Flannagan

Sunreef Yachts has announced that two Sunreef 100 Ecos have recently been commissioned, reflecting the industry’s demand for greener vessels. This smooth-sailing catamaran uses hi-tech solutions to allow for fumeless cruising, an unlimited range, and an ultra-silent operation.

The superyacht market is seeing a rising interest in large eco-responsible catamarans, something which Sunreef Yacht caters to as a pioneer of the sustainable revolution in the superyacht world. Due to this demand, Sunreef has developed the Sunreef 100 Eco superyachts, of which two have recently been commissioned.

These 29.26m catamarans are designed to provide a cruising experience that is not only emission-free, but completely silent and highly luxurious. To do this, Sunreef developed green hi-tech solutions in-house which are featured on the yacht, including composite integrated solar panels which maximise solar power generation.

The Sunreef 100 Eco features custom-engineered batteries and state-of-the-art electric engines which will offer honours of e-motoring with no fumes or vibrations. While under sail, the hydro-generators will provide a steady supply of green energy.

As well as being built to the highest sustainable standards, the Sunreef 100 Eco also contains stand-out features to connect guests to the water. She has an invisible aft garage that can stow a jet ski and a collection of water toys, and a spacious Ocean Lounge that provides direct access to voluminous toy storage and diving gear. This area also includes the aft platform and fold-down balconies, for a space dedicated to watersports, sunning and lounging.

The Sunreef 100 Eco is smooth sailing, solar, and sustainable: a spectacular example of how the superyacht industry is working to become more eco-conscious. The Polish yard has surpassed itself with this innovative design, and this model is set to raise the expectations of eco-friendly vessels.
