The Sophisticated Technology Onboard 49m Rossinavi EIV

The 49-metre Rossinavi superyacht EIV, delivered to her owner in November 2020, provides comfort and security through its innovative technological systems. Technology is increasingly a vital component of the guest experience of a superyacht, and here we take a look at EIV’s on-board systems created by Videoworks. From all-encompassing entertainment to reliable and CISCO hardware, EIV boasts state-of-the-art IT infrastructure.

Videoworks, a world leader in audio/visuals, entertainment, IT lighting and comfort, was enlisted to create the systems aboard the 69m Rossinavi superyacht EIV. The project reaffirmed Videoworks’ flair for innovation, becoming the latest in its extensive portfolio of over 700 projects in 20 years of activity.

“The relationship of trust established with the Rossi family dates back to the creation of the on-board systems for the iconic Numptia superyacht,” explains Videoworks President Mauro Pellegrini. “A partnership that has been increasingly consolidated over the years and is renewed again on board the new high-tech M/Y EIV.”

Videoworks has designed the AV, IT, CCTV, telephone and lighting systems for the superyacht. The AV-IT system is based on the philosophy of a centralised system with all the main electronics installed in three 42-unit rack cabinets, approximately 2m high each. All the hardware for the IT infrastructure is made by CISCO, a world leader for its reliability and performance. The telephone system includes both fixed telephones in the technical areas and cordless telephones, and is connected to the GSM and satellite lines on board.

EIV provides guests with a unique entertainment system, enabling everything from watching a live soccer match on a large ultra-high resolution screen to on board parties with pure sounds playing from the high-tech speakers, and of course a dependable internet connection.

An upper deck cinema lounge is equipped with a SONY 4K projector and an impressive 100” screen, both of which can disappear into the ceiling when not in use. There is a sophisticated Party Mode system to allow the same music source to be played in shared spaces and in the guests’ and owners’ cabins, while the owners cabin also features a 4K screen, concealed behind a special mirror. The systems are extended to the crew, who enjoy a comprehensive audio-visual system including TV and Apple TV.

Two wall-mounted touchscreens in the crew area and pantry allow the control of audio in common areas and the tracking of Satellite TV dishes. In addition, they even show a comprehensive view of the racks’ temperature, with an audio alarm to notify of warming issues when over-temperature.

“Superyachts are the perfect way to travel the world,” says Rossinavi COO Federico Rossi, “so it is important not only to install top quality technological components, but to create a group able to provide assistance and support anywhere in the world. A synergy we can offer, thanks to Videoworks and their partners.”
