The World’s Largest True Sportfish Yacht Launched

By Frances Flannagan

After being spotted in transit from Royal Huisman’s Vollenhove facility last week, the ground-breaking Project 406 has now officially been launched in Amsterdam. Nicknamed the ‘big-fisher’, the 52m yacht is the largest true sportfish yacht in the world: the ultimate expression of personal freedom.

Featuring a powerful hull and towering profile, Project 406 is a stunningly unique vessel, gaining the notable title of the most luxurious and individual sportfish yacht in the world. She has a LOA of 52m, beautifully blending the ultimate sports fishing experience with the scale, comfort and refinement of a luxury vessel.

Her iconic tower provides outstanding views with a downward angle on the water for both specialised fishing and spectating the sport, showcasing her bespoke and meticulous design. Vripack Yacht Design penned both her exteriors and interiors, creating an extremely distinctive profile with a long bow and high bulwarks.

Since her design was revealed to the industry for the very first time in 2022, she has captivated attention all across the globe due to her size, individuality, and harmonious blend of luxury and sport-fishing capabilities. Her launch is a highly exciting moment for both the superyacht industry and Royal Huisman, viewed as the only shipyard capable of delivering such an innovative project.
