This Fuel-Cell Superyacht Just Hit the Charter Market...and She's Stunning
A zero-emission superyacht sounds like a contradiction. CONTIGO, Sanlorenzo's 50-metre 50Steel delivered in 2024, is the answer to it and she just joined Cecil Wright's charter programme for 2026.
CONTIGO is the world's first superyacht to run a green methanol fuel-cell system, capable of producing zero emissions during fuel-cell operation and opening up protected bays and nature reserves that are off-limits to conventional vessels. Sanlorenzo has reinforced the system with advanced energy management, an optimised hull for efficiency, and high-performance systems engineered to minimise noise and vibration throughout. Lightweight, environmentally conscious materials are specified across the build. This is sustainability as a founding principle in yacht design and engineering.
Sanlorenzo has elevated the owner's suite to the upper deck, freeing the lower deck from the engine room constraints that typically dictate layout at this length. The direct benefit is a full-beam ocean lounge at sea level: generous, sun-drenched, and open directly to the water. It's the social heart of the yacht and the clearest expression of what the 50Steel platform can do when its designers are given room to think differently. Interiors are by Studio Lissoni; minimal, residential, and confident.
Ten guests across five cabins, eleven crew. The master suite, part of the floating penthouse configuration, has a private study and dressing room. The layout is kid-friendly, making CONTIGO a natural fit for family charters as well as groups. Onboard amenities include a spa, sauna, gym, and deck jacuzzi. The toy list includes SEABOBs, jet skis, wakeboards, canoes, bikes, and a 55 Wajer chase tender. She cruises at 12.5 knots, tops out at 16, and carries a range of 4,000 nautical miles.
CONTIGO is available exclusively through Cecil Wright, the London-based brokerage with one of the strongest reputations in full-service charter.
