Top 100: Discovering the Capabilities of Technology with Superyacht Technology Network
In a world with technology at the forefront of innovative industry solutions, Superyachts.com sat down with Jack Robinson, Director of Superyacht Technology Network, to find out more about the capabilities of technology within the superyacht sector, and its vast potential to aid a greener industry.
As a subject, technology is often misinterpreted within the superyacht sphere, but during our conversation with Jack Robinson, we learnt how it can in fact be a key contributor to developing the industry and solving one of the greatest issues that we are faced with today.
‘I believe that one of the greatest threats to our industry is a PR backlash, but it is also solved through technology; that's not necessarily solving all problems tomorrow, but be seen to be moving into a sustainable environment that benefits not only the industry, but also the owners’, commented Robinson.
Superyacht Technology Network works to cross the paths between superyacht professionals and technology innovators; bringing those together who need and buy technology, with those who make and sell it, through a variety of events and a far-reaching network of information.
Technology companies such as Samsung, LG and Microsoft, are now turning their attention to superyachts, and Jack Robinson and Superyacht Technology Network is here to engage the two; contributing to the progress of a greener and more technologically advanced industry.
For the Director, ‘it's all about the future of smarter yachts…that are a lot greener, but also that give you more’, achieved through the acceptance and education of technological devices and adaptations. ‘In terms of what it [technology] can deliver for the owner, it’s incredible.’
The second Superyacht Technology Show and Conference will be taking place in October, welcoming technology speakers, leaders and delegates from around the world to the first ever conference dedicated purely to superyacht technology. Learn, share and be inspired by those leading a new generation of smarter and greener superyachts.
