Top 100: RaliCouture on Protecting Product and Planet

By Heather Collier

Superyachts.com sat down with Rali Manolov, Founder of the women’s luxury jewellery designer, RaliCouture, to discuss the transformative power of jewellery and the importance of sustainability within the fashion industry.

For the past 20 years, RaliCouture has helped women build personal jewellery collections that reflect who they are and what they care about most.

RaliCouture leads with the philosophy and sentiment that every woman deserves to show up to her life with beauty and elegance, with it being their honour and responsibility to help their clients explore and discover their own style and jewellery story; letting their confidence shine through.

Although there is huge progress being made in terms of sustainability in the fashion and jewellery industry, there is still a long way to go. There are debates to be had and stigmas to be removed, particularly when approaching the subject of mining diamonds versus lab-grown diamonds.

"Recycling old jewellery is the ultimate way to go. It's ecologically friendly, and I don't believe any jewellery made should be wasted or put away in a safety deposit box." says Manolov.

"I often take my client's old pieces, whether it's jewellery or gem stones, and give them a new face and a new opportunity; a new start."

"Sustainability is very important to me. It should be important to everyone. There are so many resources being used in the fashion industry, there is so much waste", adds Manolov.

"To have the opportunity to make a piece of jewellery using recycled gold or old diamonds is incredible. Beauty should be beauty, but it should not be at the cost of our planet."
