Turquoise Unveils 84m Project Atlas

By George Bains

Hot on the heels of the delivery of Ice-Class Blue II, Turquoise Yachts has unveiled new 84m superyacht Project Atlas. The Harrison Eidsgaard-designed superyacht is the latest of a number of exciting, forward-thinking projects being developed by the Turkish shipyard.

Project Atlas has a specific focus on catering for multiple lifestyles onboard at the same time, with privacy and residency at the heart of the design. Guests will be treated to panoramic views of the sea and “separate-yet-together” deck spaces that different groups and generations can enjoy together.

The 84m superyachts was designed by Harrison Eidsgaard to a brief given by Turquoise Yachts that asked for multiple unique lifestyle features and a progressive but timeless exterior, based on the yard’s proved 80m+ platform.

The resulting design is both elegant and highly functional, with two outside areas. The beach club/transom pool area connects seamlessly with the raised rotunda seating above it, and the adjacent large maindeck lounge. The expansive sun deck is split into a Jacuzzi zone forward and a bar/dining area aft, accessed via two exterior staircases as well as the interior atrium staircase with the separate interior lift.

The exterior lines are the result of distinct chamfers that run alongside the bulwarks, starting from ‘snake fang’ forward corner mullions. The yacht’s carefully considered curving lines make her appear to be leaping forward.

The exterior profile allows the use of expansive full-height windows throughout, which connect the inside with the exterior and flood the open-space interior with natural light.

Folding platforms open each side of the 75sqm beach club to the sea, and looking aft through the large windows, the 9x3m pool is flanked by expansive teak decks with steps down to a huge aft swim/tender platform. A pair of daybeds and a large glass shower is placed forward of the comfortable central seating area, and when required, a projector screen at the aft end of the room transforms the beach club into a cinema.

Project Atlas offers versatility in two available variations of her layout, one with a penthouse owner’s suite and one with the owner’s suite towards the foredeck.

Turquoise Yachts’ 84m Project Atlas provides her owner and guests a self-contained world filled with entertainment, exploration, and energy. This is a yacht tailored for an owner who wants to enjoy excitement every day, and a vessel that excels at the essentials as well as delivering ultimate luxury.
