Van der Valk Launches 26m RPH Motor Yacht Helga

By Jenna Mehdi

Taking her name from the Old Norse word for ‘blessed’, 26m motor yacht Helga has hit the water at Van der Valk’s shipyard in Waalwijk. She features a stylish exterior design by Guido de Groot, and highly customised features to reflect her Owners' characters and tastes.

On track for delivery in good time for her Owners to enjoy an exciting summer onboard, Helga is the fifth 26m model launched by the Dutch yard. Highly customisable, this Raised Pilothouse luxury yacht is testament to the popularity and benefits of choosing Van der Valk when commissioning a new yacht.

Amongst her custom features, Helga sports a pastel blue hull and enhanced flybridge for outdoor activities. Exterior and interior designer Guido de Groot has worked closely with Van der Valk on the finer details, including transom gate doors and intricate stainless-steel work around the swim platform.

Helga’s interior is a true reflection of her Owners’ characters and the way they plan to use the yacht. A family superyacht at heart, her layout has been carefully thought through to provide large gathering spaces such as her cosy main salon. The dining area is located in the wheelhouse to free up even more space in the salon, connected by a stylish staircase that is an unusual find on a boat this size.

Also unusual for a boat of 26m is her ample and spacious accommodation; one master and three guest suites on the lower deck house up to eight guests, while two crew cabins can be found on the main deck forward.

A contemporary but comfortable design is completed with whitewashed oak and touches of walnut to make up Helga’s unique interiors.

Helga is powered by 12-cylinder MTU engines, reaching a top speed of 27 knots.

"The decision to place the dining facilities in the wheelhouse frees up space in the saloon for the sofas and chairs, enhancing the cosy family lounge feel."
