The highly anticipated hybrid superyacht VIVA (previously known as Project 817) has been captured on film making her way to the North Sea to undergo sea trials. Click on the play button in the slider above to watch the full video, courtesy of Feadship.

Launched in February this year and commissioned for a repeat Feadship client, VIVA’s owner took a ‘less is more’ approach to the megayacht’s design.

Azure and Feadship De Voogt studios collaborated on VIVA’s striking exterior, blending floor-to-ceiling windows seamlessly with an eye-catching pearl white livery. Peter Marino Architects is responsible for her open beach house-style interiors.

No doubt VIVA’s standout feature is her advanced hybrid propulsion system, allowing the yacht to travel at 12 knots comfortably on diesel-electric power.

A large battery bank ensures optimum generator loading and a smooth power grid. All-diesel mode allows the 94m to reach a top speed of 20 knots.

VIVA’s experienced owner is described to have charted ‘virtually every Feadship available’ on the market. Already in possession of a 62m Feadship build, he was determined to retain the same environmental output on his significantly larger yacht.

Other standout sustainable features include VIVA’s onboard waste treatment plant and effective heat recovery systems. The Feadship team also made every effort to optimise the yacht’s air-conditioning systems, due to increased heat intake by her floor-to-ceiling windows.

Stay tuned for more details on this exciting new launch as she nears delivery.
