WATCH: Opening of Redeveloped Lantau Yacht Club

By George Bains

Earlier this year, Lantau Yacht Club officially welcomed its first superyacht after the completion of Phase 1 of a significant redevelopment. Watch the video of the opening ceremony as the marina marks a milestone in its new era…

Formerly known as Discovery Bay, the Lantau Yacht Club promises a new haven for superyachts in the Asia region. The first superyacht to pass through LYC was a Ferretti Yachts 670, which was accompanied by the first member yacht.

The Marina is a state-of-the-art facility with superyacht berthing for vessels up to 100m in length, and Phase 1 involved the construction of two-thirds of the total berths of the marina, ranging from 10m to 60m. This impressive new superyacht marina provides a one-stop-shop for members and crew, with an on-site service yard providing professional maintenance and repair services.

Commenting on the opening of the marina, Mr Victor Cha, Deputy Chairman & Managing Director of HKR International, said “we are delighted as Lantau Yacht Club embarks on a new journey. This is an important milepost for both Hong Kong Resort and the yachting community in the region as LYC opens its doors, setting a new standard and direction for marinas and superyacht industry.”

Lantau Yacht Club offers a fantastic new base for superyachts to explore the cruising grounds of Hong Kong and the wider Asia region. Read more about the new development at the Lantau Yacht Club here.
