What to Expect From the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show 2024
From the 14th to the 18th of February 2024, the world’s largest boat and water show is set to return to the South of Florida, bringing together industry experts and boat enthusiasts from all over the globe. It is the ultimate celebration of the marine lifestyle, from showcasing some of the world’s largest vessels, to pioneering sustainable commitments.
This February, over 100,000 people will flock to Miami for the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show 2024 (DBMIBS). It is a truly spectacular event, featuring over 1000 exhibiting brands, more than 1000 boats, and generating a staggering $1.34 billion dollars in economic impact.
The show is owned by the National Marine Manufacturers Association in partnership with the International Yacht Brokers association, produced by Informa Markets.
Spanning six areas, the offerings of DBMIBS are endless. The in-water components of the show will take place at Venetian Marina, Herald Plaza, Museum Park Marina, and Yacht Haven Grande Miami, whilst the on-land portion of the event will take place at the Miami Beach Convention Center and Pride Park. Displaying everything from kayaks, to superyachts, to the latest and greatest innovations, DBMIBS has it all.
Superyacht Miami is the exclusive marina of the show, displaying some of the largest and most luxurious vessels in the world. It is the perfect opportunity for attendees to see some of their favourite vessels, all within the beautiful setting of Miami.
Alongside a broad array of displays and exhibitions, the show has an impressive range of unique features, one of which is the Progressive Boat Show Experience. It is set to showcase a number of experimental boating lifestyle activations, including seminars, food trucks and activity zones that the whole family can enjoy.
For those who wish to indulge in the luxurious side of the show, the Windward VIP area is the perfect place to do so: an exclusive retreat featuring an open bar, gourmet food, premium activations and even admission to Art Windward. The opportunity to attend Miami’s premier winter contemporary and modern art fair showcases how the show is so much more than a yachting event, extending into other luxury markets.
One of the most notable aspects of DBMIBS is its commitment to support and protect marine wildlife; the show has developed a series of initiatives to strive towards a more sustainable way to enjoy the ocean. The first plan implemented is to ensure the safety of manatees in the area during sea trials, of which an extensive training programme has equipped individuals to spot manatees and inform the show’s operatives about them.
The show, alongside PBIBS and FLIBS, has partnered with Yacht Carbon Offset to assist in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and has also partnered with the Miami Foundation to raise money for Biscayne Bay Recovery Fund to help protect the 13 mile long ecosystem in Greater Miami.
The catering at DBMIBS is also highly eco-frendly, with Proof of the Pudding acting as the catering company to help run a responsible and sustainable event. The show is moving towards zero landfill waste, alongside putting in place a no-styrofoam policy, phasing out straws, and serving fresh farm-to-plate food, with organic seafood and meats.
With over $2.8 million dollars invested to eliminate the use of diesel generators and to reduce electricity usage, DBMIBS is on the right track to achieving a greener future of yachting.
Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show is geared up to be a truly spectacular event, showcasing the very best of the superyacht world and acting as an important hub for the latest innovations, the incredible vessels, and the industry experts themselves.
