Where Art Meets Engineering: Feadship’s Stunning Project 827

By Sophia Spanton

Feadship has marked another significant milestone with the emergence of Project 827 from its Amsterdam facility. Measuring 71.76 metres, this striking new yacht is now entering its final outfitting and sea trials, representing a refined and forward-thinking addition to the Feadship fleet.

Project 827’s exterior, crafted by Studio De Voogt, showcases Feadship’s signature elegance with flowing lines, a low bulwark, and harmonious proportions from bow to stern. The design features an extended sundeck forward and a spacious swim platform aft, seamlessly blending expansive outdoor areas with generous interiors. Five decks of living space are enhanced by floor-to-ceiling glass, creating a social layout that maximises natural light and flexibility for multi-generational enjoyment.

A standout feature is the dedicated owner’s deck, a rarity for yachts of this size. The panoramic master stateroom, encased in wrap-around glass, offers direct access to a private breakfast area and hot tub-an arrangement made possible by the raised pilothouse. The main deck aft serves as the yacht’s social heart, with a 7-metre pool, sun loungers, and a saloon enclosed by full-height glass that opens onto the expansive aft deck. Teak-clad stadium steps lead down to the swim platform, reinforcing Project 827’s distinctive profile.

Guest accommodation is located on the main deck, where larger windows and increased ceiling heights create an airy, open atmosphere. Four staterooms and two VIP suites offer flexible arrangements, with the VIPs able to combine into a full-beam suite. Beneath the aft deck, a wellness space sits just steps from the swim platform, ensuring easy access for all on board.

Project 827 is powered by a next-generation diesel-electric propulsion system, underlining Feadship’s leadership in hybrid innovation since the launch of Savannah in 2015. With naval architecture by Azure Naval Architects and interiors by FM Architettura, Project 827-also known as Sakura-embodies a harmonious blend of Japanese-inspired minimalism and Dutch engineering.

Richard Lambert, Senior Partner at Burgess commented 'It has been a pleasure to have worked hand in hand with the owner and Feadship for Project 827; our close collaboration has resulted in a contemporary, elegant design with an impressive volume.'

As Project 827 prepares for delivery in 2025, her emergence signals a new benchmark for Feadship: a yacht that balances timeless elegance, innovative technology, and a deep commitment to owner experience.
