WHITE CORAL Unveiled: The Ambitious 115m Superyacht by Mulder Design

By Sophia Spanton

Dutch design and naval architecture studio Mulder Design has recently unveiled its latest project, WHITE CORAL: a stunning 115-metre superyacht that embodies a blend of modern aesthetics and timeless elegance. This ambitious project marks a significant departure from the studio's typical focus on yachts up to 60m.

Mulder Design aims to create enduring designs characterised by long, elegant lines, avoiding trends that could become outdated quickly.

‘The key for us is always to have long, elegant and simple lines, then enhance them without adding too many fussy details,’ commented Bas Mulder, Owner of Mulder Design.

The yacht features a dramatic, forward-leaning superstructure, a vertical mast, and reverse fashion plates. It includes a fully certified helideck with an under-deck hangar, a glass-bottomed swimming pool, and a spacious beach club measuring 18 by 8 metres, complete with opening hull doors that create expansive sea terraces.

Mulder has emphasised a holistic understanding of design and engineering, ensuring that the aesthetic elements are not only visually appealing, but also technically feasible.

The WHITE CORAL concept began with initial sketches presented at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2022, which attracted significant interest from potential clients. This led to further development, including 3D renders and detailed calculations to ensure the design's feasibility while maintaining a balance between form and function. Throughout this process, focus remained on creating a design that not only captivates the eye but also meets the practical requirements of a luxury yacht.

‘When we started this project a couple of years ago, we wanted to do a larger yacht... We decided to really show what we can do so settled on 115 metres,’ stated Bas Mulder, reflecting on the project's ambition and the studio's design philosophy.

WHITE CORAL exemplifies Mulder Design's commitment to creating luxurious, functional yachts that resonate with the calming essence of the ocean, as suggested by its name, which references the organic gemstone known for its positive attributes in Vedic astrology.
