Alia Yachts has proudly announced that a new Chief Development Officer has been appointed. Bringing an exceptional amount of experience and expertise to the role, Wilma Van Rijn is set to strengthen the structure of the Turkish yard greatly, playing an important part in the shipyard’s growth and future endeavours.

Wilma Van Rijn is a highly experienced naval architect who has recently been appointed as Alia Yachts’ new Chief Development Officer. She will be an important member of the senior management team at the Turkish yard, working directly with the shipyard’s CEO Gökhan Çelik.

‘An important part of our forward-looking strategy is to continually evolve our organisation and processes to keep in line with our growing business,’ commented Çelik. ‘Wilma is exactly the right person who will help us do that. With her wealth of experience at one of the top shipyards in the world, she is well respected in the industry and we’re looking forward to working together to strengthen our structure.’

She is joining the Turkish yard after spending 18 years as head of project management, head of technology and senior advisor at Feadship’s Royal Van Lent Shipyard. Prior to this, Wilma also completed ten years of design and project management in commercial shipbuilding.

‘I’m excited to join this enthusiastic, dedicated and open-minded team,’ commented Wilma Van Rijn. ‘Having seen first-hand the potential at Alia Yachts, I look forward to contributing to the company's ongoing success and future goals together.’

With seven superyachts ranging from 43 to 60 metres currently under construction, Wilma is joining Alia Yachts at a highly exciting time, marked by the recently-launched 53m Project SeaClub.

The Turkish yard has also revealed that yet another vessel is scheduled to hit the water this year.
