Winch Design Reveals First Look at Amels 60 Interior

By Jenna Mehdi

Winch Design Studio is a true master of its craft. For yachting and design enthusiasts alike, first glimpses of impeccably styled Winch interiors are nothing short of an aesthetic feast. Now, as the studio affords us a first look at Hull No.1 of the upcoming Amels 60, it is clear Winch has once lived up to expectations.

With an exterior crafted by Espen Oino and her interiors fitted by Winch, it is safe to say we have high expectations for Amels’ latest Limited Editions superyacht. The first hull is the fruit of a longstanding collaboration between Winch and the Dutch superyacht builders, and will be powered by hybrid technology affording her a range of 4,500 nautical miles at 13 knots.

Accommodating 12 guests and 13 crew, Winch has confirmed that the 60m was built for an ‘experienced client’, whose priorities were to cherish a true family experience onboard as well as accessibility into a variety of marinas and ports around the world.

As is reflective of her dynamic exterior, her interior is complemented by interesting geometric shapes - softened by organically inspired forms and features. The feature rooms of the Amels 60 - from her sky lounge to beach club - are unmistakably Winch; there is a beachy and tranquil air throughout ‘with a subtle masculine edge’.

Winch Design has selected a warm colour palette, using materials such as Jerusalem limestone, light bleached matte oak, light-tone walnut and bronze to achieve this look. Every intricate detail has been carefully considered, from delicate brushed finishes and ridging on surfaces which serve to juxtapose the large, comfortable and contemporary furniture.

Jim Dixon, Director of Yachts & Aviation at Winch, told Superyachts.com,

“Experience in designing these ‘homes on the water’ with Amels and our longstanding client brings a deeper and deeper understanding of what is required… Yet what is required is increasingly rather simple and elementary – just a place and atmosphere of ultimate relaxation… that’s it.

And I hope our first design for the Amels 60 interior will be just that!”

The project has now graduated from concept to the out-fitting tender stage, and is on track for delivery in summer 2022.
