YachtAid Global Partners with Tahiti Private Expeditions to Deliver Conservation Program

By George Bains

YachtAid Global has announced a partnership with Tahiti Private Expeditions in the South Pacific and beyond to grow its ocean and marine life conservation efforts through the global Operation Swimway conservation program.

The non-profit organisation YachtAid Global (YAG) is dedicated to delivering humanitarian aid, conservation programs, and disaster relief responses at the highest level worldwide. YAG implements these initiatives with the support of a vetted network of NGOs, agents, government agencies, brokers and charities, while also providing the pathway for superyachts to participate in the execution of altruistic activities.

Operation Swimway was established as a global conversation program to provide investments into the equipment and science of ocean conservation. This has enables yacht owners, guests, and crew to work closely with distinguished members of the scientific community to accelerate the conservation of pelagic species.

The latest company to join forces with YAG on Operation Swimway is Tahiti Private Expeditions (TPE) – who work with superyachts to create lifelong memories across French Polynesia and the South Pacific.

TPE’s expert guides, instructors, and photographers have captured over 350 superyacht expeditions, and will now work in tandem with YAG on important conservation efforts.

Tahiti Private Expeditions is helping YachtAid Global to now provide an immersive and educational experience for both yacht owners and charter clients alike, focusing on the conservation of critical migration corridors for sharks, manta rays, sea turtles, and billfish along routes. These corridors play a critical role in the migration of these species as they seek to reach new feeding grounds and protected pupping areas.

Operation Swimway provides much-needed support to the scientific community and affords all participants the pride of knowing they have contributed to the preservation of the marine environment. Participating yachts, guests, and crew, will work alongside distinguished members of the scientific community to assist with dives, operate underwater equipment, tag, measure and learn hands-on conservation methods and science.

The partnership between YachtAid Global and Tahiti Private Expeditions presents an inspiring example of how the superyacht industry can mobilise its unique resources and expertise to help crucial initiatives.
