YPI Announces Partnership With Green Yard Kleven

By George Bains

Leading international yacht brokerage and management firm Yachting Partners International (YPI) has signed a new agreement with Green Yard Kleven, bringing the Norwegian shipyard actively into the yacht market.

Green Yard Kleven is known for pioneering environmentally conscious marine technology, and has delivered two renowned Top100 superyachts in 107m Andromeda and 116m Ulysses. The new partnership with YPI paves the way for Owners to secure new build projects in particular above the 80m range, with build slots available immediately.

“We view the construction of large yachts, aka superyachts, as a highly topical market for us. The yacht brokers from YPI are experienced and have a huge network in the industry. A collaboration with them means that we can get in touch with yacht brokers, representatives and direct clients all over the world in a completely different way than if we were to do this alone,” says Hans Jørgen Fedog, CEO of Green Yard Group.

Green Yard Kleven has earned a reputation for quality and more recently for pioneering battery technology, hybrid vessels and full cycle build to recycle plans. The permanent entrance of the shipyard into the superyacht market adds another gem to the already prestigious reputation of Northern European yacht building. The Kleven shipyard in Ulsteinvik is second to none, with easy access by land, air and sea. The agreement was cemented during a visit of Peter Thompson, Managing Partner and Global Sales Director of YPI, to the shipyard in early November.

“It was a pleasure to travel to Green Yard Kleven and see their facilities first-hand,” said Peter Thompson. “My colleague Russell Crump has been following the Kleven shipyard for several years and has always been impressed by what he has seen, a sentiment with which I can now fully concur. The Kleven name is known and respected in the superyacht world for the build of acclaimed yachts ANDROMEDA and ULYSSES and we are looking forward to delivering new projects here in the years to come.”

Hans Jørgen Fedog of Green Yard Kleven expressed his enthusiasm at the potential of the partnership with YPI in a highly competitive market. “Together we can achieve something big, it will be hard work as well, there is no doubt about that, but with our combined expertise great yachts will eb delivered for clients wishing to build here,” shared Fedog.

The agreement marks an exciting new opportunity for current and prospective superyacht Owners, and we look forward to following the development of this partnership between two innovative and pioneering companies.
