Explore Thailand By Day...

For a day spent ashore in this Asian wonderland, these are the places to be pampered, the sights to see, the shopping districts to delve into, the activities to indulge in, and the gourmet treats to discover.

Sri Panwa
The villas at Sri Panwa are without equal: each glass-walled bedroom offers uninterrupted views of the crystalline Andaman Sea and opens out onto a private infinity pool with massaging jets perfect for easing away the strain of the journey there. Lavishly decorated in contemporary themes, these neutral toned rooms are delicious havens for weary sea-legs, while those who desire discovery will be enchanted with this coastal Phuket landscape.

Sai Spa at the Sri Panwa villas offer Thai and Swedish massage, facials and therapy baths, but this is far from being the only place to rejuvenate in Thailand.

Peninsula Spa

The Peninsula Spa in Bangkok is touted by many as one of the best spas in all of Thailand. With a riverside garden to welcome you in and the country’s most skilled therapists on hand to see to your every need, this is the ultimate bastion of indulgence.

Kamalaya Spa

The Kamalaya Spa on Koh Samui rests on a site that was once a spiritual cave-retreat for Buddhist monks. Visitors can spend the day recharging with a host of oriental, medical, naturopathic and holistic healing programmes executed at the highest level possible against a backdrop of unsurpassable beauty.

Ton Sai
When in Koh Phi Phi, those desirous of a picture-postcard-panoramic scope of the twin bays of Phi Phi as well as a dazzling sunset, should trek their way up to the famous lookout point in Ton Sai. The trail follows the lush curves of Loh Dalum Bay before ascending up the hill past Phi Phi View Point.

While in Krabi, the sights are endless: Tham Kao Ping is a cave of huge stalactites and stalagmites with walls glittering with mineral deposits and the Namtok Huai To waterfall is a particular stunner and runs down to 11 large pools. Fossil Shell beach, located 20 kilometres from Krabi town, is especially fascinating with a shoreline jam-packed with fossilised shells dating back millions of years.

Siam Paragon
If you’ve come to Thailand to shop then you’re in the right place, as it is a favoured Thai pastime and Bangkok is the most suitable destination. The biggest, brightest and most up-market Bangkok shopping centre is the monstrous Siam Paragon, which benefits from direct access to the Siam Skytrain station.

Siam Square
To experience youthful creativity, journey across the road from Paragon to Siam Square, a vibrant and enigmatic maze of boutiques and food stalls.

Chatuchak Weekend Market

Bangkok’s most famous market is the Chatuchak Weekend Market, known locally as ‘JJ’, conveniently located near the Kampaeng Phet Metro. With over 6,000 stalls selling everything from bronze Buddhas to every designer knock-off imaginable, Chatachuk is where Thais and travellers alike gather in order to find that little something special.

Monkey Beach
From Koh Phi Phi, sail to the snorkel- and kayak-friendly Monkey Beach, where the namesake animals caper on the sand and in the ocean, but could never spoil this bastion of pure, feral beauty.

Active Pursuits
Krabi is a land of plenty with its craggy limestone cliffs and diamond-white powdery beaches which provide ample opportunities for hiking, sea sports and excellent rock-climbing, the likes of which can be found nowhere else in Thailand.

Na Muang
Water cascades over purple rocks at Na Muang, Koh Samui’s most impressive waterfall: an elephant trek to the top of the second waterfall is a gorgeous shortcut.

Canopy Adventures
Naturalist and adrenaline junkies alike will adore Canopy Adventures in Bophut, which takes you on a treetop-to-treetop tour of the jungle, swinging along 500 metres of cable.

With a gorgeous all-white décor that will make you forget you’re in Bangkok, this tranquil hideaway serves a wonderful selection of freshly baked cakes and savoury snacks along with a tasty slice of people-watching.

Mango Tree Café
Serving authentic, fresh fare, this hotspot for celebs and A-listers is hidden in the heart of the Chiang Mai’s expat enclave just outside of the gates of the old town.
