    Captain Glynn is from Southampton, England a true nautical town, which is famous for its yacht races and regattas. Glynn started sailing at the age of 12 his first command was an 8 ft Optimist sailing dinghy. He continued to spend all his spare time at the local sailing club racing and cruising various sailing dinghies. He soon became the youngest senior sailing instructor in the UK teaching people from all walks of life sailing, windsurfing, power boating and many other outdoor activities. Glynn's first introduction into the private yachting world was in 1992 when he joined a classic sailing yacht in San Remo Italy, this opened up a whole new world for him. He soon moved up the ranks and took his first Captains position at the age of 23 on a Swan 46. Glynn sailed over 36,000 miles and visited 25 countries with the Swan, including Atlantic crossings and 2 Pacific crossings. One Pacific crossing was against the elements departing from Australia for San Diego; 8000 nautical miles against the wind and ocean currents. In 2000 Glynn's career moved forward with the addition of his girlfriend (now wife) joining him in the yachting world. Glynn has captained high profile racing yachts placing first in major regattas in the Mediterranean. After many years on sailing yachts he transitioned to motor yachts with his wife chartering in the Mediterranean, Bahamas Caribbean, USA, and Central America. His Wife and Baby are now in Fort Lauderdale, where he loves to be during his time off. Glynn has been in command of M/Y Katharine for the past year and will ensure his years of experience are dedicated to your enjoyment and safety.

    Richard, or 'Dick' is a proud Kiwi and like many of his countrymen shares a love of the ocean that surrounds his beautiful country of New Zealand. A keen fisherman and diver, he has spent years pursuing these interests both recreationally and professionally, the last 10 of which have been in the super yacht industry. Initially on sail boats, Richard has sailed all but the Indian Ocean, ending up in Florida to actively immerse himself in the yachting world. He has since moved to motor yachts to fulfill his goal of becoming a captain and is very proud and excited to recently receive the added responsibility of being Katharine's Relief Captain to Glynn. Richard likes to relax hard after working hard so when not enjoying the great outdoors, you will find him equally as happy reading a book, watching sports or catching a movie.

    Without a place to really call home, Dane is a true man of the sea. After traveling around the United States in a motor home and a short stint in a house, at the age of 8 his family moved aboard a 45' vessel and there began his transformation from boy to sailor. With destinations including, South and Central America, Bahamas and the Caribbean, he was able to gain thousands of sea miles before he graduated from high school. His free time included surf trips and racing sailing dinghies for the US Virgin Islands. At the age of 18 Dane decided to make a career out of his lifestyle and became a “yachty”. Dane now, with 5 years under his belt, as a professional yachtsman, has sailed to destinations like the Galapagos, Mediterranean, South America, Central America, Pacific and the Caribbean. Dane recently joined the Katharine to continue living his dream of everything ocean orientated.

    Originating from New Zealand, Richard has always been involved in a variety of sports particularly involving water. Very keen on his white water kayaking, surfing, water skiing, wake boarding, and fishing. Outside of the water he is also into snowboarding, skiing, rugby, cricket and tennis. Having completed a Bachelor of Sport and Recreation degree Richard then spent 5 years work in the corporate training industry before making his way to Europe and getting involved in the yachting industry. Richard is a keen and easy going member of the team.
  • Phil Brown

    Phil has been a marine engineer for 18 years. He began his career working on tankers, moving on to Cruise Liners. The last few years he has been working on a variety of yachts, from very old boats to brand new builds. Phil loves his life, working at sea, he loves his job and will fix anything for you! After hours, Phil likes to socialize, travel, read and learn.
  • Rosco Gallagher

    Rosco was born in New Zealand. He grew up and was schooled in Katikati, a small town on the north east of the north island, through school he followed a passion of Rowing through to a national level. Rosco left school at the age of seventeen and began an apprenticeship in Automotive Engineering, after four years the travel bug got a hold of him and took him to London where he started his OE, allowing Rosco to travel extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and many other countries. Rosco then spent a few years living in Australia before joining the yachting industry.

    James Boyle hails from Missouri in the United States, where he started cooking at the age of twelve. After attending the New England Culinary Institute, James worked under world renown chefs on both the East and West Coast of America, later owning his own restaurant for 7 years. His restaurant gained National recognition and was featured in the New York Times, Food and Wine, and other Gourmet Magazines. James has worked in the Yachting Industry, on Yacht Katharine for the past 3 years in his diverse, culinary background. In his spare time James enjoys spending time with his 2 sons and traveling throughout South America.
  • Fiona Downes

    Fiona grew up on a farm in Elgin near Cape Town in South Africa. She loved her childhood spent on the farm, attending schools nearby in Somerset West. She has always loved travelling and took part in a school exchange in 2000 which allowed her to spend 6 months at a Catholic Boarding School in England. She then completed a degree in Arts, majoring in Psychology and Sociology at Stellenbosch University. Throughout Fi's school and university years she always took part in anything that she could organize! Her biggest passion lies in Event Coordination, which is what she would ultimately like to become involved in. She has always worked in the hospitality industry and this is what led her to the yachting. Fiona has thoroughly enjoyed the past 2 years onboard Motor Yacht Katharine as it involves two of her passions, people and travelling. Her whole family is in the Wine Industry and Fiona too has completed wine courses. She loves making Sushi and entertaining and looks forward to bringing smiles of appreciation to all guests under her charge.
  • Rubia Guimaraes

    Rubia originates from the Amazon and, moved to Rio later in life to study law. After completing her degree, she specialized in Civil as well as Labour Law before she decided she needed a little adventure. Her travels took her to St. Maarten where Rubia worked as a waitress at the infamous Bamboo Bernies. It was here that she had her first introduction to mega yachts. She traveled to Palma de Mallorca in Spain where she began day-working on different boats. Her first permanent job as a stewardess was on Summerwind in which she also traveled with the boat's owner as a translator and personal assistant. Rubia is now in her fourth year of yachting and is the newest addition to the Katharine crew.

    Caryn (or Cazz) hails from South Africa, where she grew up on a citrus farm. During her childhood Cazz spent many summer holidays at the coast where she learnt to water ski, wakeboard and fish. As she grew up she realized that the summer wasn't long enough and Cazz's love for the ocean became stronger. After obtaining her degree in Humanities at the University of Stellenbosch, Cazz went on to study marketing at the University of Cape Town. Upon graduating Cazz decided to combine her love for the ocean, excitement of meeting people and desire to travel, and pursue a career in the yachting industry. Cazz has recently joined the motor yacht Katharine and is looking forward to making your stay aboard an enjoyable and lasting experience.
