  • Matthew Baily
    Matthew Baily
    Australian
    Captain
Born in Sydney, Australia, Matt has spent the last 25 years in his back yard, Sydney Harbour and different Oceans around the world. Starting off as an avid sailor at the tender age of 6, Matt’s love quickly shifted to motor yachts upon his first Captains role on board a 62’ Sunseeker Predator based in Sydney in 2003 and has never looked back. As many young Captains had done before him, Matt ventured to Europe adding to his experience within the Industry where, then at the age of 27, he captained his first 120’ Palmer Johnson based in the South of France. Upon his return to Australia in 2010, Matt set about to further his career and continue his studies by completing his Master Class 4 at the Australian Maritime College in Tasmania and graduated as the youngest in his class. From there, he travelled to the Whitsundays and spent the next 2 years taking guests from all over the world to experience a place which he called home, The Great Barrier Reef. Working as a Captain for the last 10 years, Matt has experienced everything that the East Coast of Australia (Melbourne – Whitsundays) and the Mediterranean has to offer and has grown a strong desire to provide all of his guests, both young and young at heart, a holiday they will never forget. His extensive knowledge of the Industry and passion for providing a professional yet fun and memorable experience to his guests is reflected throughout his crew and, in turn, the service provided on board Princess Iluka is second to none. Matt would love to welcome you on board Princess Iluka so you can experience for yourself the true Australian wonder that she is, relish in her unique past and be a part of her modern future.
  • Ben Wark
    Ben Wark
    New Zealander
    Engineer
Ben hails from a small surfing town in the north island of New Zealand called Raglan. After completing High School, he chose to pursue a career in engineering and moved to Auckland where he would spend the next 6 years training with Air New Zealand to become a qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. A 1 year pre-apprenticeship followed by a 5 year apprenticeship with the airline has given him a varied engineering background and skill set, as well as a high degree of professionalism and an excellent attitude towards ongoing safety – two attributes which are paramount not only in aviation but in the any service industry for ensuring guest safety and reliable machinery. Having been fortunate enough to travel extensively while working for an airline, Ben’s passion for exploration and meeting new people inevitably led him to leave his homeland and pursue a new career in engineering. The Super Yacht industry was the perfect opportunity to combine travel with continued learning on the engineering side. Ben’s strict attention to detail, professional yet highly personable manner and his strong emphasis on safety will ensure Princess Iluka’s guests have an enjoyable stay on board knowing that they are on a reliable yacht and incapable hands.
  • Alisha King
    Alisha King
    Australian
    Mate/Deckhand
Alisha was born in a large North Queensland town called Townsville but moved to New Zealand with her parents at the age of 4 and lived in the coastal area known as the Coromandel. Alisha’s love for surfing and all water sports saw her pursue a career within the Navy at the young age of 18. During her 5-year service, she acted as Officer of the Watch and Navigator and travelled as far North as the Bearing Sea and as far South as the Ross Ice Shelf. She has travelled to such places as Korea, Japan, Canada, America and Hawaii, Tahiti, Papa New Guinea, Antarctica and the Pacific Rim. The only places she hadn’t travelled to is what compelled her to hand in her resignation to the Navy in 2013 and pursue a commercial career within the Super Yacht Industry. For someone with as much experience as Alisha, it was only natural for Captain Matt Baily to snatch her up and welcome her on board in July 2014 as Mate / Deckhand on board Princess Iluka. Under Matt’s command, she is hoping to further her knowledge of the industry and hopes to one day become a Captain herself. With her dedication, enthusiastic attitude and easy going nature she has quickly found her place within the crew and is looking forward to sharing her first season in the Mediterranean with her guests.
  • Hannah Willan
    Hannah Willan
    New Zealander
    Chief Stewardess
Hannah was born in Christchurch, NZ. At the age of 19, like many young kiwi’s, she packed up and crossed the ditch to Australia where not only did she cross an ocean, she knew she had to find a way to work on it and get paid for it as well. Starting off as a Stewardess/Deckhand for an overnight charter company in the Whitsundays, a normal day for her consisted of sailing, visiting the magnificent Whitehaven Beach almost on a daily basis while diving and snorkelling in some of the most beautiful locations Australia and the underwater world has to offer. However, all the while she knew she wanted more and began working as a sole Stewardess/Deckhand on board a 82’ Sunseeker based in Sydney in 2011 alongside Captain Matt Baily. This is where her love for the Super Yacht industry began. With her eye for detail and a passion for providing the best possible service for her guests, Hannah was invited by Captain Matt to join the crew on board Princess Iluka as the Chief Stewardess and Dive Master in 2013. Her love for this truly unique yacht with its timeless interior grows stronger everyday and, as a result, she is eager to share that same love with every guest she welcomes on board.
  • Belinda O’Brien
    Belinda O’Brien
    New Zealander
    Stewardess
‘B’ was born in Wellington, New Zealand, grew up in Auckland and has always been surrounded by the sea. Frequently holidaying in Taupo and the Coromandel, B’s love for the water and boats quickly developed. B went on to study communications, advertising and marketing and worked for 5 years in the top of her industry in both TV and advertising until the sea as it always did, called her back. Upon moving to the South of France, Belinda was quickly introduced to the Super Yacht industry and day worked on a variety of yachts until she started as a sole Stewardess/Deckhand/Cook on board a 20m Princess. Cruising the Balearic’s introduced Belinda to some of the most amazing scenery and pristine waters the Mediterranean had to offer. Her ability to multi task across all roles and her easy going friendly personality makes Belinda a vital part of the Princess Iluka family.
