Sincerity Crew

  • Nat Wilson
    Captain
Captain Nathaniel Wilson has been immersed in the yachting world all his life. Son of sailmaker Nathaniel S. Wilson, he grew up in East Boothbay, Maine, and, as a youth, he had many experiences sailing on traditionally-rigged vessels of all sizes. Through the sail loft, the excitement of tall ships and classics was an everyday part of his life and he developed a passion for sailing and the water. Nat went to sea at 18, first sailing on the full-rigged ship HMS Rose and several yachts, including the MV Katrion, before joining the 212 foot gaff schooner Adix in Australia in 2005. He sailed on Adix across the Pacific, through the Panama Canal, and eventually to the Mediterranean. In 2007, Nat joined the 150 foot gaff schooner Eleanora, where he served as bosun in the Mediterranean racing season, the Caribbean, and the US East Coast. Nat moved ashore in the fall of 2008 to join his father in the sailmaking business making traditional sails and rigging. Most recently he spent a summer racing on Spartan, a NY 50 that Nathaniel S. Wilson Sailmakers made sails for and rigged. In 2010, the sea called again and Nat joined the SY Sincerity as her Captain, a position he thoroughly enjoys. Captain Nat has been a licensed captain since 2006 and he owns a classic Cal 40, which he sails in his spare time.
  • Angus Roberts
    British
    Mate
Mate Angus Roberts grew up on Mersea Island, an island with a strong maritime history on the east coast of the UK. Accordingly, since a very young age he has been on and around the sea; at age 6 he had his first Optimist dinghy and continued to race and compete in this class until he was 13. This passion for racing continued to lead him across Europe in both dinghies and keelboats racing in national and international regattas. His love of the sea also influenced his education; in 2006 he graduated from Southampton University with a Masters degree in Oceanography. After completeing his university course he spent two years away from the water working in the ski industry in the French Alps, but working as an alpine footwear specialist alongside proffesional athletes and major manufacturers whilst skiing almost every day still was not enough to keep him away from the water and he inevitably found himself back onboard a yacht and sailing across the Atlantic to Antigua, where he joined Sincerity in January of 2011.
