Ferretti Group Showcase Headlines Venice Boat Show

By George Bains

The Venice Boat Show kicks off again this Wednesday 31 May, with the event growing in prominence in the yachting calendar. As yacht owners and enthusiasts descend on the iconic city of marine culture and history, the Ferretti Group celebrates its fourth year running at the show, with an exceptional line-up of ten boats headlined by the presentation of the wallywhy150.

The historic Venetian Arsenale welcomes 220 exhibitors and 300 vessels for the Venice Boat Show, with this year’s event taking a focus on design and innovation, electric, hybrid, and hydrogen propulsion.

The Ferretti Group’s dazzling showcase of boats features four of its seven brands. Visitors will be given the chance to inspect the Ferretti Yachts 720, Ferretti Yachts 580, and Ferretti Yachts 500,  while from Riva there will be the 68’ Diable, 56’ Rivale, and Rivamare. A Custom Line Navetta 30 will also be on display, alongside Pershing’s 9X and 7X.

Ferretti Group’s headline presentation is the wallywhy150, a model created by a team of Wally and Ferretti Group Engineering experts in collaboration with Studio Vallicelli Design, with the latter penning an elegant interior design. The wallywhy150 boasts unprecedented exterior areas and a huge upper deck with the same sheltered space as would be typically found on a 40-metre yacht.

“We have seen the Venice Boat Show come into being and flourish, not just as the leading trade fair in the Eastern Mediterranean, but as a yachting world event that our owners and friends look forward to the whole year,” said Alberto Galassi, Ferretti Group CEO. “It gives me great pleasure to see that the other Italian boat builders too have recognised the importance of this outstanding international event and the opportunities it creates.

“I’d like to underscore once again this year the unmatched appeal of Venice’s Arsenale as the natural and artistic backdrop to our boats’ beauty and modernity. History has been made here and this is where you can admire the future of yachting: what other city in the world could other all this?

“I’d like to thank and show my appreciation to Mayor Brugnaro and the municipal administration, who have given Venice back its rightful role as queen of the sea and navigation.”

The romanticised setting of Venice is synonymous with the style and elegance of Ferretti’s brand, none more so than Riva, which celebrated its 180th anniversary event in Venice last year.
