Fifth Amels 60 Motor Yacht Successfully Hits the Water

By Frances Flannagan

On the 9th of February, Amels announced the launch of the Amels 6005: the fifth hull from the Amels 60 range. Whilst her design remains highly confidential, the focus placed on spaciousness by the yard hints at the inclusion of a series of show-stopping design elements to elevate the onboard experience.

The Amels Limited Editions concept is characterised by customisation and fast delivery with a proven technical platform, something which 6005 adheres to as she was sold less than three years ago in 2021. She is set to be delivered to her Owner in Spring 2024 following final outfitting, commissioning and sea trial phases.

She features naval architecture by Damen Yachting and exterior design by Espen Øino, with all other design details kept tightly under wraps. We do know, however, that the design is focused on the feeling of space to enhance onboard experience, with the inclusion of a large sun deck, swim platform, and folding Owner’s suite balcony. She is fitted with hybrid power and propulsion technology, with a beam of 10.40m and a gross tonnage of 830.

Up to 12 guests can be accommodated onboard, with a crew of 13 ensuring the most premium service. 6005 has an impressive seakeeping ability with a range of 4,500nm at 13 knots, able to reach a maximum speed of 15.5 knots.

The fourth Amels 60, which was launched in July 2023, was a less-secretive build, featuring a custom interior by Studio Indigo and Pure Living. The six staterooms are configured as a full-beam Owner’s Suite located on the main deck forward and four guest suites on the lower deck.

She boasts a plethora of notable features, including a beach club, a jacuzzi and a touch-and-go helipad, so we can only expect the fifth hull to include similar show-stopping design elements.

Superyachts.com would like to congratulate Amels on this exciting launch, as we anticipate her delivery in the upcoming months along with the rest of the eagerly-awaiting industry.
