MYS 2023: CRN Celebrates 60 Years of Italian Excellence

By Frances Flannagan

On day one of the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show, we were joined by Stefano de Vivo, CCO of Ferretti Group, as he talked us through the great achievements of CRN. Characterised by Italian excellence, attention to detail, and exceptional engineering, the 60th anniversary of the shipyard is a milestone to be highly celebrated.

Beginning in 1963, CRN is one of the few companies in the industry that began by solely constructing superyachts, highlighting the significance of the shipyard. This year, CRN is celebrating its 60th anniversary, a monumental moment for the Italian yard.

Stefano de Vivo, CCO of Ferretti Group, commented on what sets CRN apart from other shipyards: ‘We’ve always been developing different yachts, there's been very few series, so all the yachts are always different from each other.’

Not only does this factor place CRN in a unique position, the shipyard’s approach to sustainability is also notable. By developing and testing solutions before giving them to the market, CRN ensures that all its developments are proven before being available to buy, emphasising its commitment to customer satisfaction and excellent services.

Following the sale of Project Thunderball, which is currently under construction and has generated much excitement, two new projects are also to be highly anticipated, including the 85m Project 144, the largest CRN ever built.

Vivo commented, 'It’s quite interesting that the year of our 60th anniversary we are actually building the biggest yacht ever built in the yard.’

With this exciting new build news alongside the revelation of major investments in the Ancona shipyard to ensure the most premium facilities, the 60th anniversary of CRN is a highly celebratory event.
