Rosetti Commences Build of Second 38m Explorer Yacht

By Freya Cottrell

In November of 2020 Rosetti Superyachts received permission to expand its facilities at its San Vitale shipyard to encompass the construction of superyachts. Now, less than a year later, Rosetti has delivered its first superyacht and announced the building of a second sister ship.

Utilising nearly 100 years of shipbuilding insight M/Y EMOCEAN, a 38m Explorer yacht, was the first superyacht in the history of the Rosetti Marino Group to be built. In a previous interview with Superyachts.com Fulvio Dodich, President of Rosetti, emphasised the Explorer market as one in which Rosetti would excel.

The launch of EMOCEAN has proved him right. Due to make her worldwide debut at Cannes Yachting Festival this September, the 38m was delivered to her owners shortly before Rosetti announced the building of her sister ship. The sister ship is expected to be delivered in July 2023 and will be built in the same San Vitale shipyard in Ravenna, Italy.

Ermano Bellettini, Chairman and CEO of Rosetti Superyachts commented: “Our decision to commence a new construction represents another important investment, confirming that our Group firmly believes in the future of Italian shipbuilding and, in particular, of Rosetti Superyachts’ talent in building yachts with international appeal,”

We chose to start building a second boat to meet market demands for shorter delivery times” adds Andrea Giora, Rosetti Superyachts Sales & Marketing Director.

This yacht will benefit from the experience acquired on M/Y EMOCEAN and from the choices made with the owners, Hydro Tec and our shipyard. Over the next few months, the future owner of this 38 metre will be able to configure the interiors and select materials and may choose to benefit from the expertise of Burdisso Capponi Studio who also designed the interiors of M/Y EMOCEAN.”
